NINA WEAVER is a visual artist, singer-songwriter, and community art worker living in Queensland, Australia.
Weaver's artwork has been showcased in numerous exhibitions, and her sculpture is on permanent display at Ipswich City Council's Environmental Education Centre. Weaver’s band, Tiger Street, achieved number five in the 2015 4ZZZ Hot 100 (community radio). Additionally, Weaver has booked over 550 musicians and artists to perform in Ipswich. Weaver has decades of experience in the arts community in various roles and projects. Weaver owned and managed Banshees Bar & Artspace, worked as a Children's Gallery Assistant at the Ipswich Art Gallery, and served as a Creative Facilitator at the Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre. Weaver has collaborated with organisations such as Arts Queensland, Brisbane Pride Choir, and the Queensland Poetry Festival to create community-based art events and workshops. Currently, Weaver is pursuing a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the University of Southern Queensland while acting as Ipswich City Council's Live Venues Liaison. Weaver’s artistic and community endeavours have been recognised when she was shortlisted for the 2020 Ipswich Australia Day Cultural Award. Weaver's enduring passion for learning and connection to Australian contemporary art, music, and culture significantly influences her artistic and professional decisions.
